After securing two wins in a row,
Luanda Villa tactician Leonard Saleh says he needs at least five matches to
monitor his new signings before settling for his first eleven as he anticipates
to finish among the top six teams in the National Super League this year.
Speaking after securing a 2-1 victory
against MOFA FC at Mumboha Sports Grounds on Sunday, Saleh said it is
still early to conclude whether the team had regained its mojo.
"I thank
God that I have managed to register victory against MOFA FC. Slowly and slowly
we are building this team.
“It will
take time but we have given ourselves five matches in which our new players
will have to prove themselves on the pitch before we decide on our first
team," Saleh said.
Saleh has
urged fans to bear with as he plots to form a formidable side that can challenge
for the second-tier title.
"Luanda
Villa will take its desired shape after five games. Meanwhile, the young new
talent has impressed me and i can only hope for the best," he added.
He has
however downplayed claims that his team was unable to utilize the home ground
advantage to beat MOFA by a big margin maintaining that their visitors were a
better side.
According
to Saleh, the 2-0 victory against Muhoroni Youth FC away coupled by the 2-1 win
against MOFA FC have set the right tempo ahead of their away game against Salmwest
FC who will host Luanda Villa next weekend.
"My
target is to be among the top six teams after our targeted five games," he
said.
