Luanda Villa
head coach Francis Chinjili remains upbeat of his team's survival chances in the
National Super League (NSL).
In a conversation
with Citizen Digital at Mumboha
ground, Chinjili dismissed claims that he is under pressure to turn things
around for the struggling side, which has seen a string of coaching changes.
"I
personally don't feel pressured. Given the squad I've inherited, I'm confident
we are making progress," Chinjili said. "We have new players still
finding their feet, but results will come soon."
Since taking
over on January 17, 2026, Chinjili has led the team to one draw and suffered
four losses, including a 1-0 home defeat to FC Talanta last Sunday.
Nevertheless
Chinjili has defended his record, citing the team's rebuilding phase.
"I'm not
under pressure because I am building a team from scratch, following a mass
exodus of players," he said.
Chinjili
emphasized his philosophy of building from the back and moving forward with
possession.
Luanda Villa
have managed a measly 22 points from 21 matches and will look to secure their
NSL spot in the remaining fixtures.
