Njiru-based Kihanga wins weekly Shabiki Kaende Jackpot

The typically tranquil Njiru town in Nairobi County on Tuesday was filled with celebrations after the busy residents got wind of John Kihanga Mwangi's Shabiki Jackpot win.

Kihanga, a scrap metal dealer, pocketed a cool 500,000 shillings in the weekly jackpot on a day that the betting platform launched Shabiki Super Jackpot, where fans can win up to 5,000,000 in the new jackpot.

The Shabiki.com team quietly landed in Njiru at midday to award him his hard-earned cash splash.

Kihanga, who has been placing his bets on the popular Shabiki.com platform, had lost hope of ever winning and did not play the Shabiki jackpot for the last two weeks after missing out on three consecutive bets.

But this week, like in previous attempts, he placed the bet not expecting to win, but then lady luck knocked on his door. Now elated, Kihanga could not hide his joy.

“I am so excited. I have tried about five times in vain, but here I am. My wife was so excited.”

The young entrepreneur says he will use his fortune to venture into business.

"I will at least start a business, though I haven’t decided the kind of business. I will also do the same for my better half, who is currently in the house.”

The Njiru residents who watched in awe have vowed to try their hand at gaming on Shabiki.com, hoping to be crowned winners.

“I have always thought it’s a bunch of scammers, but after witnessing John's win, I will also place my bet.”

“I have placed my bet for a long time with no win and am never giving up. I am now graduating to 99 shillings.”

At the same time, the much-awaited Shabiki Supa Jackpot has officially been launched, with winners set to bag a Ksh5 million windfall using a Ksh99 stake.  

The latest Shabiki installment also comes with huge bonuses for 12, 13, and 14 correct predictions.
