Nashon Randiek retains seat as hockey president
Long-serving president Nashon Randiek is seeking re-election for a third term.

The much-anticipated Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) elections held Saturday at Maxwell Church Adventist Halls in Nairobi ended with a wave of continuity as several incumbents and familiar figures secured key leadership positions in a vote that marked the first union polls since 2018.
Long-serving president Nashon Randiek, who was unopposed, retained his seat for a third term, further extending his reign that began in 2013 following the retirement of Resham Bains.
The position of Female Deputy President also went uncontested, with Elynah Wanyika Shiveka declared duly elected.
The most hotly contested race was for the Male Deputy President post, where Manjit Singh Jhite emerged victorious with 19 votes, defeating Dr. Frankline Odayo who garnered 10 votes and Michael Graham Katana seven votes.
In the Secretary General race, incumbent Wycliffe Ongori successfully fended off competition from Thomas Onyango Olal and Gilbert Ouko Oyoo, garnering a commanding 24 votes. Olal and Oyoo received 7 and 5 votes respectively.
The Deputy Secretary General position went to Catherine Nduku Mulwa, who secured 24 votes, comfortably beating Erick Tracey Kerubo, who managed 11 votes.
In the battle for Deputy Match and Fixtures Secretary, Jane Nyamogo edged out Esther Ayiecha Adolwa in a close contest, winning by 18 votes to 15.
The Public Relations Officer race also saw a clear winner in Kelvin Michael Mwangi, who earned a landslide 29 votes against Joel Mburu Kamau’s 7 votes.
The third contender, Leonard Mutuku, withdrew late in the campaign.
Godfrey Odongo Bila retained his seat as Treasurer unopposed, while Moses Majiwa also sailed through unchallenged as match and Fixtures Secretary.
For the Deputy Treasurer post, Francis Munyao Kisaingu was declared elected after his opponent, James Juma late withdrawal.
Nashon Randiek who was earlier this week elected the deputy president of the National Olympic Committee said that he was going for his final reign as the president.
Among his main projects will be to rehabilitate the City Park Stadium which has been closed since January 2024.
“I am happy to be elected once again to lead the Union. This will be my last term in office.”
“Some of the projects that have stalled for quite some time like the rehabilitation of the City Park Stadium will be a key priority for me. I will ensure we have new turf at City Park.”
