Former AFC Leopards
commercial director Enos Mutuka has announced he is in the race to be the next
chairman of the club in the June elections.
Mutoka, who served under
the current chairman Dan Shikanda between 2019 and 2022, is confident he is the
answer to the lost glory Ingwe used to thrive in.
“I have entered the race to
be the Leopards Chairman because I have seen the challenges the team is going
through.
“I am available to offer my
solution and be able to return the team to where it should be to return the
glory days to the den," says Mutoka.
According to the St Peters
Mumias Boys alumni, he will ensure the club realizes financial stability,
dominating the league by winning titles and having a training ground of their
own.
“That’s why I am availing myself to lead the club. I want to ensure the club realizes financial stability, starts winning trophies, and acquires their own training ground, which they can later develop to make it a place AFC (Leopards) can be proud of as their property," Mutoka added.
Mutoka is proud that he
was instrumental in landing the team sponsorship that is currently running and
other successes.
“I have served in this club as
the commercial director. That enabled me to help bring sponsors to the team,
and I roped in the current sponsor, who is attached to the team.
I also was at the forefront
of ensuring that Western leaders teamed up to buy the bus the club is
using," Mutoka concluded.
Mutoka is the latest to
officially declare interest in Leopard's top seat alongside former Ingwe striker
Boniface Ambani and U 45 branch chairman Olympia Musonye.
Shikanda will finish his
second term in office in June, which has been six years without a single top-flight
title.
