Musingu High School football head coach Brendan Mwinamo believes his side has tools to go all the way and reclaim the national title in this year’s Term Two Games.

The seasoned school coach is however wary of the threat posed by other teams and wants his charges to first focus on retaining their Western Region title.

Highway Secondary School clinched the national title in a dramatic 3-2 penalty shootout victory against Musingu in the final at Gusii Stadium last August.

“We want the title back that is why we are preparing very well we begin the journey this weekend with the of going all the way but one thing we cannot afford to do is undermine any opponent,” said Mwinamo

Mwinamo also weighed in on recent Rising Stars outing in the just concluded AFCON under 20 in Egypt, saying poor selection of players was the biggest undoing for Kenya.

“We had a very good team at the CECAFA under 18 and under 20 but what happened was the poor selection when they went to Egypt. You can’t separate a winning team by including players from outside the country whom you don’t have a good background about.”

The veteran tactician has also backed current FKF Premier League leaders Police FC to win this year’s title.

“They have a good team with experienced players but they have to be calm, win the game then they can start celebration but a small mistake will cost them.”
