School football head coach Branden Mwinano says his team is determined to
reclaim the national football title when the games begin from the July 27 –
August 3 next month in Kakamega County.
Mwinano says they
are putting in the hard work needed to reclaim the title from High Way High
School who beat them in last year’s finals 4-3 on penalties after playing to a
1-1 draw in normal time.
“We are very
much determined to reclaim the title that we painfully lost to our rivals last
year, we know this year’s competition
will be even tougher because many teams have improved a lot and I believe we
are going to be ready for that competition,” said Mwinamo.
Musingu are in
the same pool as Agai mixed secondary school form Nyanza region, Moi High School
from Eastern and a school yet to be confirmed from North Eastern, and the head
coach believes the fans will play a crucial role in them getting the results.
“We have to use
the home advantage and win the title, we know how much our fans love football, and
I believe with their passion and believe in us we have what it takes to make
them proud,” added Mwinamo.
He went on to
confirm that there are no major injuries in his team and just minor knocks that
require quick recovery before the competition begins.
“We have no
serious injuries so far, only a few knocks, that will take a few days to
recover and be ready for the nationals,” stated the head coach.
