Musa outlines plans to revitalize Kenya's boxing

Inspired by Cuba’s renowned success in the 1960s, the initiative aims to establish a distinctive Kenyan boxing identity and philosophy.

The program seeks to standardize coaching techniques across all levels, improving the quality of training and performance for Kenyan boxers.

Musa emphasized that strong government backing is crucial for the project to succeed, mirroring the support that propelled Cuba to become a global boxing powerhouse.

“Kenya aims to cultivate a new generation of skilled athletes who embody the nation’s unique boxing culture while enhancing our competitive edge on the international stage,” explained Musa.

“The unified coaching system is a pivotal step in achieving these objectives and positioning Kenya as a formidable force in global boxing. This could lead to more medals in international competitions.”

The initiative focuses on creating a cohesive training framework for boxers from grassroots to the national team.
