The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) team saw their unbeaten run end after a 3-1 loss to KCB in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women's National League 4th leg at Nyayo Gymnasium on Thursday.

‎KCB secured the victory with set scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-13, and 25-19 in a thrilling encounter.

DCI struggled in the opening set but found their rhythm in the second, levelling the match. However, KCB regained control in the third set and maintained their dominance to seal the win in the fourth.

‎The loss leaves DCI in fourth place with 12 points from four wins, while KCB climbs above them to third with 14 points, strengthening their bid for the league title.

‎Speaking after the match, DCI Head Coach Mukopi Jeremiah admitted his team fell short but vowed to bounce back.

‎"We lost, yes, but it was not our day. We had planned well, but our reception was not good today. We have another game tomorrow, and we will fight to recover. The title is still within reach as long as we work together as a team," said Mukopi.

‎On the other hand, KCB’s Japheth Munala expressed satisfaction with the win.

‎"DCI has always been a strong team, and it's always a four-set thriller when we meet. We are happy to be ahead of them now. We aim for the club championship, and we are also preparing for the Kenya Cup next week," said Munala.

‎KCB will now face Young Spikers in their next match, while DCI looks to redeem themselves against Nairobi Prisons.

‎In other matches; Kenya Prisons defeated Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 3-0 (25-14, 25-22 and 25-20).

‎Kenya Pipeline, fresh from participating at the CAVB Zone V Clubs Championship in Uganda, earned a walkover after their scheduled opponents Maranatha failed to show up.

‎Post Bank recorded their fourth win of the season with a dominant 3-0 victory (25-6, 25-8 and 25-9) against Young Spikers.
