Msa Olympic's Oyoo unbowed ahead of Bullets clash

Mombasa Olympic head coach Joseph Oyoo is eyeing a win against Kenya Police Bullets when both teams lock horns on Sunday, in a Kenyan Women Premier League (FKF WPL) encounter to be staged at the Mpesa Foundation in Thika.

The Joseph Oyoo-coached side registered their third loss of the season following a 3-0 humiliation in the hands of Ulinzi Starlets in a mid-week fixture at the Ruaraka Stadium, which left them in 10th position with five points.

They are now eight behind leaders Kibera Soccer Women FC, while Trinity Starlets FC, Kenya Police Bullets FC, Vihiga Queens FC and Bungoma Queens FC wrap up the top five with 12, 11, 11 and 10 points respectively.

Despite their poor run, Oyoo, who blamed fatigue for their mid-week loss, said they have had enough rest and good preparations ahead of the Bullets tie.

“Before we played Ulinzi, we left Mombasa at 11:00pm on Tuesday and arrived on Wednesday at 10:00am, just hours before the kick off. This really affected us, but we have been around preparing for the Police and we believe we have what it takes to beat them,” said Oyoo.

All my departments were weak against Ulinzi, but I have worked on them ahead of our next fixture,” he added.

Police who are coming from a 6-0 win against Wadadia will be keen to secure maximum points, which could see them rise to the top of the table.

Other fixtures on Sunday will see Bunyore Starlets hosting newbies Kisped at Mumboha Grounds while Ulinzi Starlets will take on Trinity Starlets at Ruaraka.

On Saturday, Zetech Sparks will host Bungoma Queens at the Dandora Stadium, Kibera Soccer Women will lock horns with three-time champions Vhiga Queens at Don Bosco in Karen.

Wadadia will wrap up the fixture against Kisumu All Starlets in Mumias.
