Moraa victorious at Kisii weekend meeting

The Commonwealth Games 800 gold medalist Mary Moraa recorded a season’s best 2:00:7 to emerge victorious in the race, as the fifth AK meet came to a close in Gusii stadium.

Miriam Cherono came second in 2:02:0 while Josphine Chelangat finished third crossing the finish line in 2:02:6.

In the  women's 1500m, Nelly chebet emerged victorious recording 4:05:9 followed by Josephine Chelangat at 4:06:7 while Celestine Chepkosgei came third recording 4:10:1.

Reynold Kipkorir won the men 1500m at a time of 3:37:2, followed by Vincent Keter at 3:38:4. Boaz Kiprugut took position three in a time of 3:38:7.

In the 3000m steeplechase men, Benard Koech won the race clocking 8:24:6, followed by Amos Kirui who crossed the finish line at 8:35:4. Wesley Langat finished third at 8:40:4.

Caren Chebet won the men 3000m steeplechase at 9:52:0, followed by Mercy Gitahi at 10:01:1 while Fancy Cherono came third at 10:06:1.

Emily Wamusyi and Dominic Ndigiti won the 10000 walking race for both men and women respectively.

Wamusyi crossed the finish line at 46:09:2, while Ndigiti on the other hand finished at 40:20:1.

In the 10000m women race, which was held on Friday, Gladys Kwamboka emerged victorious clocking 33:59:5 followed by Sandrefillia Chebet and Miriam Chebet who finished second and third at 34:00:3 and 34:09:6 respectively.

In 100m hurdles women, KDF took the top three position with Rukia Nusra, Hannah Mwangi and Jane Wangare clocking 13:9, 14:7 and 15:0 respectively.

Maximila Imali won the 100m women at 11:3 followed by Mbagari Esther and Monica Safania who clocked 11:5 and 11:7 respectively.

In the men category, Steve Odhiambo emerged victorious clocking 10:2 followed by Robinson Motende at10:3, while Dan Kiviasi came third at 10:4.
