Swamibapa A and Kanbis A meet on Saturday for the continuation of Q2 which failed to produce a result last weekend following inclement weather.
The winner in this belated match takes on Q1 winners Sir Ali "A" who are comfortably waiting to know their opponents for Sunday’s big final at Nairobi Gymkhana.
NCCA Fixture’s secretary said the above-mentioned match on Sunday, 22nd February 2026 was interrupted by rain after the first over had been bowled.
Minimum overs requirement Under the Playing Conditions, each team must have the opportunity to bat for a minimum of five (5) overs for a result to be achieved.
As this requirement was not met, the match could not produce a result on the scheduled day. Vishal explained: "The Qualifier 2 match between Kanbis A and Swamibapa A shall be continued on the designated reserve day, not replayed.
Play shall resume from the exact point of interruption, subject to any lawful overs’ revision by the umpires." A match between Swamibapa and Kanbis has always remained a derby and this time round, the final before the final.
Both sides have been consistent in the domestic cricket for quite some time and we are hoping for another thrilling encounter between them.
As Sir Ali cool their heels ahead of Sunday final, fans must be wondering what the Q2 presents in the long run. Swamibapa skippered by allrounder Sachin Gill are expected to put up a spirited fight and so will Kanbis A, their perennial rivals.
Kanbis are looking to leverage on their batsmen among them skipper Dhiren Gondaria, Rakep Patel, Sachin Bhudia and newcomer Tanzeel Sheikh among others.
