Moi Airbase crowned taekwondo champions

Moi Airbase has been crowned 2023 Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) Taekwondo Champions after topping both in the men's category and overall performance of the two-day event held at the Moi Air Base in Nairobi.
A total of 14 teams drawn from various formations, brigades, and bases of the Kenya Defense Forces participated in the tournament to showcase their skills and compete in the interdepartmental games.
Speaking after the final, Moi Airbase captain Lemiso Leshau lauded his teammates for their good preparations and determination to win this year’s edition.
“This time round the teams came with great initiative and creativity, we were lucky to do a lot of research to give us an upper hand. Going forward, we will do a lot to win the next championship,” Leshau said.
On the other hand, Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe was crowned champions in the women's category but finished as runners-up overall.
The winners and standout performers will represent the military in national competitions while contributing to the overall success of the national taekwondo team.
