Newly appointed Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) Head Coach Charles Odero has issued a rallying call to his players ahead of their upcoming FKF National Super League (NSL) clash against Mombasa United, urging every player to step up and take responsibility for scoring goals.

The coach says, goals are a responsibility of all players regardless of their position in the squad

Speaking to Citizen Digital ahead of the weekend fixture, Odero expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to break their recent goal drought by shifting the burden of scoring away from strikers alone.

"Every player will now be responsible for scoring goals to end the club’s goal drought," said Odero.

"We need goals coming from every department—defenders, midfielders, forwards. Everyone must be involved in attacking play," he added.

The former Nzoia Sugar FC tactician, who is set to lead MOFA for only the second time since his appointment, emphasized that a fast-paced attacking approach will be key to unlocking Mombasa United’s defense.

"We will play a very fast-paced game because I know very well that Mombasa United is a team with a good style of play. We must match their tempo and outwork them," revealed the coach.

MOFA currently sit eigth on the NSL log with 32 points from 23 matches and are determined to climb higher with a win this weekend.

The match will be a crucial test of Odero’s tactical adjustments as he looks to register his first win since taking charge.

Mombasa United, known for their structured game play and resilience, will not be an easy opponent—but Odero believes the home advantage and renewed team spirit will give MOFA the edge they need.
