MMUST nail third consecutive win
Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) achieved their third consecutive victory with a commanding 30-5 win over the University of Eldoret (UOE) in the KRU Championship
Ian Oduor, playing at centre, opened the scoring for MMUST with a try.
Flanker Paywick Munoko showed excellent skill to secure possession and score another try. However, he was later replaced by Brian Ndeda due to a left leg injury.
Larry Oanga managed to score a try for UOE after a counter-attack.
Clarence scored another try, but both Washington and captain Veron Kaburu missed their conversion attempts, leading to a halftime score of 25-5 in favor of MMUST.
The second half was tightly contested with only one try scored.
Martin Masika took advantage of an opportunity on the left wing to score. Byron Ogada missed the conversion, leaving the score at 30-5.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, UOE team manager Timothy Abednego remarked on the unpredictable nature of KRU Championship opponents.
"The game was good but our opponents are challenging. We will fight and bounce back in our next games."
MMUST Captain Veron Kaburu expressed mixed feelings about the win, stating: "We have won but we have not played the way we trained. We were out of the game plan, and that's why we never converted the many chances we had. We got a bonus, and now our focus is on Mombasa next weekend."
