In a heartfelt message posted on his social media platforms, Miheso thanked the fans, his teammates, and former coach Thomas Trucha for their unwavering support throughout his tenure.
“As my time as captain of this incredible team comes to an end, I want to express my deepest gratitude, you are the soul of this team,” he wrote.
Miheso, who joined Ingwe on multiple occasions over the past decade, leaves a legacy of leadership and experience.
His departure is part of a larger reshuffle at the Den, with winger Elly Wafula, striker Sydney Lokale, goalkeeper Abubakar Musha, and Veteran midfielder Kevin Kimani also exiting the club.
Musha, a Kilifi native, had a long wait for his competitive debut after joining the team in 2022. Kimani, meanwhile, exits after stints with Mathare United, Tusker,Sofapaka, and Wazito.
Miheso’s storied career spans multiple countries and clubs, including Finnish side VPS, South Africa’s Golden Arrows, Zambia’s Buildcon, and local heavyweights Gor Mahia and Kenya Police FC, where he consistently delivered goals and creativity.
As AFC Leopards look to rebuild for the upcoming FKF Premier League season, the departure of such seasoned players signals a fresh start, one filled with uncertainty but also promise.
The club is coming off a disappointing campaign, finishing sixth in the KPL standings with 51 points.
Newly elected club chairman Boniface Ambani in his victory speech had pledged to chart a new path, prioritizing the review of players' contracts and overall squad development as part of a wider restructuring plan.
