Speaking to Citizen Digital, Black Blad RFC captain Obat Kuke said in an interview with Citizen Digital that they aimed for a victory but were defeated by the Oilers.

On the other side, Menengai Oilers' key player Timothy Omela shared his thoughts on the match, calling it a good day despite the pressure from their opponents.

"The boys rose to the occasion, and they really wanted that win," he said.

Omela credited consistent training for improving his performance.

"Training has been intense. At this point, it doesn’t matter what strategy we use to secure a win. As long as we get those three points, it’s worth it. The Oilers is the best team right now, and I feel it’s the right time for us. God is on our side," he added.

Looking ahead, Omela noted that their next match against KCB RFC in the Kenya Cup semifinals would be a tough game.

Prior to hosting Kenyatta University's 'Blak Blad’, the Oilers had secured a home playoff spot by finishing third in the regular season with 47 points.
