Mathare United head coach John Kamau is bracing for a tough clash tomorrow against Talanta FC but remains optimistic about his team’s preparations.
“This will be a challenging match,” Kamau acknowledged, “but the team has been training well, and I’m pleased with the progress so far.”
He called on his players to maintain a strong mindset and bring their best to secure all three points. “I urge them to step up and compete with the determination to win.”
Despite the optimism, Kamau noted that key players will miss the game due to injuries.
“We’re missing some important members of the squad, but this gives others a chance to show their potential and contribute,” he said.
With Mathare United sitting at 15th in the league and struggling defensively as the team with the most goals conceded, Kamau aims to adopt a more aggressive approach.
“We’ve been controlling play in recent matches but haven’t been able to convert that dominance into goals,” he explained.
“I want the team to focus on an attacking strategy to break that trend.”
Mathare United, currently with five points, will face Talanta FC, in 11th place with the same points but fewer matches played, this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dandora Stadium.
