Matano: Too early to predict how the FKF-PL season will end
The 2009 champions’ recent resurgence has seen them keep a four-match unbeaten run, after a slow start into the season.
“This season we can’t predict now because I normally don’t predict results and where we will be on the table come the end of the season.”
“We will keep working hard, keep training in the best way possible with the focus of building on what we have started posting- winning and not losing matches.
“We will continue building the team ensuring that it stabilizes well, the confidence that is now in the team is very vital and we hope to ride on it ahead of the challenge that will be thrown our way.
“The team has started to take shape and we are not warning anyone because we are focusing on ourselves and not our opponents,” he added.
The ‘Batoto Ba Mungu’ have beaten Shabana and Kakamega Homeboyz, and drawn against City Stars and Kenya Police in their last four assignments.
“We will handle game by game and what has happened today has passed and we are not going to dwell on it.
The matches ahead of us are more important than those we have played. When we look back it will mean that we are forfeiting what lies ahead of us in terms of the amount of fixtures that are lined up for us which is the real test”, said the former Tusker coach.
Matano is keen to keep injecting the winning mentality in the team and ensure that they compete well this season.
Sofapaka are placed ninth in the league standings with nine points, eight behind early leaders KCB.
They next face a tricky away game at the inform Mara Sugar FC on November 24 before hosting Murang’a SEAL on November 27, three days before they travel to play Kariobangi Sharks.
