Bungoma Queen's head coach Godfrey Mabonga has expressed his frustration with his forwards for failing to capitalize on clear scoring opportunities during their 0-0 draw against Trinity Starlets in an FKF Women's Premier League match played on Saturday.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Mabonga acknowledged that earning a point away from home remains crucial as the team pushes to stay in title contention.

Reflecting on the goalless encounter, Mabonga lamented the inability of his striking unit to convert opportunities that could have secured all three points.

"We had very clear chances to kill the game, but unfortunately, we couldn’t find the back of the net. We must work on it going forward," Mabonga told Citizen Digital.

The result leaves Queens with little room for error as they aim to close the gap on the league leaders in an increasingly competitive title race.

While expressing disappointment, Mabonga also revealed his long-term plans for the team, stating that he will look to bolster his squad during the league's second leg.

“We are aiming for the title, and to achieve that, we must strengthen our squad,” he added.

Bungoma Queens currently sit 3rd in the table with 17 points from 10 matches, just one point behind second-placed Vihiga Queens and four adrift of league leaders Kibera Soccer Women.

Elsewhere, Kenya Police defeated Vihiga Queens 1-0, while leaders Kibera Soccer beat Zetech Sparks 2-1, Bunyore Starlets edged out Mombasa Olympics with a 2-1 win, and Ulinzi Starlets secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Wadadia.
