Luanda Villa coach Saleh wants strong finish in NSL

The Vihiga based side welcome second placed APS Bomet at Mumboha Grounds on Sunday, seeking to win their second match on the trot after bouncing back from four successive draws.

Saleh says despite financial challenges bedevilling his side the players have given their all and that he is contended by the performance so far.

Villa, who are in their second appearance in the second tier league, are currently 12th in the standings on 32 points, 20 adrift of leaders Nairobi United with 11 matches left to play.

“Although we have recorded two draws, our last two opponents are above us on the NSL log. This means we have tried.”

With eyes on victory against APS Bomet, Saleh is wary of the threat posed by their opponents.

“Discipline forces associated teams play long balls. If we will be able to lock them in their own half, deny them an opportunity to make long passes then we might come out victorious,” he stated.

“We respect APS Bomet but we don't fear them so we are going for maximum points.”
