Luanda
Villa tactician Leonard Saleh wants to use the upcoming fixtures to test the
National Super League side’s consistency after breaking the losing streak.
Saleh
believes it is time to win back fans' confidence by recording positive results
following a poor run.
“I
thank God that Luanda Villa eventually recorded the first win away against
Muhoroni Youth FC.
“This
means the team is on the right track, and I am keen to ensure we continue that
way. History also favored us when we met Muhoroni Youth FC.
“There
is no peaceful match that Luanda Villa has lost in Muhoroni; hence the 2-0
weekend win,’ Saleh, who had drawn with Dimba Patriots ahead of Muhoroni's
encounter, said.
He
added that the struggles he experienced when he joined the team after the
abrupt departure of his predecessor were artificial.
“Luanda
Villa lost four games consecutively after I took over because some players had
their interests elsewhere.
“When
they left, now we have the true Luanda Villa, and you can begin to see the results." Saleh attributed the draw and the win he earned in six games to the departure
of players who were signed with other clubs and the Luanda Villa management's
quick efforts to begin signing new players.
Meanwhile,
Saleh has confirmed that he has finished revamping his backline.
He
says he has embarked on fixing the midfield and the striking force by looking
for requisite talent to fill the vacancies after more than eight players left
the club.
Because
of a gaming firm tourney this weekend, Saleh expects their NSL fixtures to be
rescheduled, hoping to continue their winning streak in the next game.
Despite
the weekend win, Luanda Villa dropped one position to position twelve on the National
Super League log with twenty-six points.
