KWPL: Queens Coach Nyamunyamu hails international break, ready to face Wadadia
Vihiga Queens head coach Boniface Nyamunayuh believes the two weeks break will give his charges better rest time ahead of their next FKF Women Premier League clash against Wadadia slated for December 6.
Only three league matches were
played last weekend, as others were halted due to involvement of the players in
international duty, with Harambee Starlets.
Ugandan keeper Ruth Aturo and
striker Diana Cherono are part of Coach Beldine Odemba squad in the Starlets
friendly matches hence forcing the fixtures to be postponed.
“The two weeks break has allowed us to have
enough rest and we are now fully prepared to face Wadadia,” he said. “We fell
against Kibera in the last fixture and I realized that it was due to the
mistakes in my defence and striking departments something which I have worked
on.
At the same time, on Saturday,
at Bungoma National Polytechnic, Catherine Khaemba, Bracksides Itambo and Elizabeth Mukoa goals were enough to hand the
hosts, Bungoma Queens a 3-1 win
against Coast-based Mombasa Olympic who got the consolation goal
through Grace Wekesa, as Trinity
Starlets fell 3-1 at the hands of Zetech
Sparks at the RVIST grounds. Monalizer
Anyango, Faith Muli and Violet Akinyi scored for Zetech as Mercy Wafula gave
the newbies the consolation goal.
Sunday’s fixture pitting Kibera
Soccer Women and Kisped Queens at the Jomo Kenyatta, Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu
ended in a goalless draw.
