After enduring an
indifferent first leg of the 2023–24 season, Madira Soccer Assassins assistant
head coach Domitila Wangui has tipped his side to turn around their fortunes in
the Kenya Women’s Premier League.
In an interview with
Citizen Digital Domitila hinged his optimism on players returning from
injuries, terming it a welcome boost for their end-of-season prospects.
Domitila says they
will work hard to sew up their leaking defense as they bid to climb higher on
the log.
"We initially had
injuries, but now they are back. Right now, we are focusing our energy on winning
in the coming matches.
“We are improving on
our tactical approach, mostly in the attack and defense sections," said
Domitila.
While quelling
concerns about the prospect of the side being relegated, she said they will
work hard to have fate in their hands at the end of the season.
"I want to tell
our fans we are not going for relegation. We are training well enough and we
are hopeful that we'll do well," she noted.
Assassins are
currently ranked seventh on the log with 14 points after playing 12 matches,
two points ahead of their next opponents Zetech Sparks.
