KWPL: Machio rallies Bungoma Queens to gather confidence ahead of Falcons tie

KWPL: Machio rallies Bungoma Queens to gather confidence ahead of Falcons tie

Bungoma Queens have intensified training ahead of their seventh-round match against Nakuru Falcons on Saturday at the Sudi Stadium.

Coach Robert Machio rallying his players to rise above the 2-1 defeat they suffered in their last Kenya Women Premier League match against Madira Soccer Assassins at Mumboha Grounds.

Machio is keen to see to see his charges to bounce back to winning ways, after they were slowed down by Assassins to ensure they do not lose the mojo they started with.

He however knows that it will not be a walk in the park, against Falcons.

“Nakuru Falcons is a good team. Though we have never met since we joined KWPL, we are preparing well, and the ladies are psyched up for the match. With the right formation, I am confident we will beat them.”

Nakuru City Queens are 10th on the table with a single win since the start of the season.

The tactician has attributed the team's loss in the last match to the poor state of the pitch.

“The field was muddy and slippery, and we were much disadvantaged because we could not play our usual game in such a pitch. However, I must acknowledge that Madira is a good team.”

He has also called on the fans to turn up in large numbers ahead of their weekend clash.

Meanwhile, Kibera Soccer Ladies coach David Vijago is confident that they have what it takes to challenge Vihiga Queens dominance in the league.

Kibera will be hunting three points in their Saturday match against Zetech Sparks at Gems Cambridge.  The slum ladies are second on the table with 12 points and have only lost only once.

"So far, we have no injuries.

"The girls are doing well and are looking forward keeping our 100 percent record. With the zeal showed so far and the right strategy, we believe we can lift the title in the highly competitive KWPL."

The team won their home match against struggling Gaspo Women and is now seven points behind the league leaders, Vihiga.
