Bungoma Queens are gearing up for a thrilling encounter against former
champions Vihiga Queens this weekend in Kisumu after a short international
break.
In an interview with Citizen Digital, the side's
head coach, Godfrey Mabonga, exuded confidence in his squad, citing the
friendly matches played during the break and the intense training sessions as
key preparations ahead of the highly anticipated showdown.
Mabonga believes the break allowed his team to
sharpen their skills and improve their overall performance.
“The friendly matches we engaged in during the
break were crucial in assessing areas that needed improvement. I am confident my
players are better positioned to play,” Mabonga stated.
The upcoming fixture presents an opportunity for
Bungoma Queens to settle the score with Vihiga Queens, who edged them out in
the first leg.
Mabonga is keen on turning the tables this time, emphasizing
the need for a solid performance.
"We lost to Vihiga in the first leg. They
have also made some good signings, but we are determined to showcase our
resilience and get a positive result because we don't have major injury
concerns apart from our forward Catherine Khaemba," Mabonga added.
