KSSSA: Malungu tips Musingu to bag third national hockey title

Musingu High School hockey head coach Mike Malungu says they are
determined to retain the KSSSA national hockey title for a third year running.
Speaking ahead of the national competition that will be taking
place between the 7th and 12th of next month at
Shanzu Teachers College and Shimo La Tewa High School in Mombasa County,
Malungu said they have a target on their back and will work hard to go all the
way in this year’s edition.
“We know every team is training to beat us as champions that is
what happens when you are the champion but we are ready for that we are putting
in extra hard work to make sure we are in good shape ahead of the nationals,
“said Malungi
Musingu are pooled alongside heavyweights Mpesa Academy, Matiliku,
and Mnyenzeni, all of whom are making their debut on the national stage, but
Malungu is wary of the threats they pose.
“It does not look so hard, but that does not mean we
underestimate our opponents we will treat every game with the seriousness that
it deserves to make sure we top the pool,” added Malungu
Despite the team showing much improvement this year, the
veteran tactician still feels they need to work on their finishing.
“We are sharpening our attack to make sure that we can kill off
games with a huge margin to avoid last-minute panic during crucial stages of
the competition,” stated the head coach
