Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association games commencing Wednesday, with tacticians
and players alike are psyched for the clash of the titans.
In regards to preparedness, St Mary's Boys High School
Kibabii is ready for the boys’ soccer competition.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, the school's coach,
Christopher Simiyu, said the boys have trained well and he believes they will
go all the way in this year’s edition.
"There is great improvement among the boys
compared to how we played at County level.
“We have prepared so well for this competition with
friendly matches against premier league players and the performance has been
promising," he said.
Additionally, Simiyu said it is the perfect time for
them to reach the Nationals because the games are being played in their home
county, promising Kibabii fans good results.
"We have told the boys to give all their best
because they are playing at home. Their families and friends will be watching
and supporting them every step of the way.
“Even the local leadership is behind them. So, we are
hoping to see good results." Simiyu further added
The KSSSA Western Region Soccer Boys Group A matches
are scheduled to be played at Bungoma High School grounds, while Group B
fixtures will be staged at the Sudi Stadium, home of National Super League side
Nzoia Sugar FC.
Kibabii will play their opening fixture against John
Osogo.
Simiyu’s charges proceeded to the regionals after
edging their arch rivals Friends Bukembe Boys High School at the County finals
played at Bungoma High School earlier.
