KRU declares rugby transfer window open

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has announced the
official dates for the opening of the Kenyan rugby transfer window, when clubs are allowed to trade players.
In a notice, the
transfer window was declared officially open as from the June 10, 2024 and will close on July 14, 2024.
KRU advised clubs to “use the transfer window to complete all transfer activities within the said
period to ensure compliance and avoid issues" in the upcoming 2024/2025
season.
The union warned that no players would be
allowed to participate in the 2024/2025 season, if they are not duly registered within the stipulated transfer
period.
The governing body also confirmed the relegation of Catholic Monks and Homeboyz RFC to the Championship, with Kabarak University relegated to the
Nationwide league.
Technical University of Mombasa, TUM Marines alongside Zetech Oaks were officially promoted to the
Championship.
Zetech Oaks overcame TUM Marines 31-10 in the Nationwide league final to secure an instant return
to the Championship after being relegated last season.
Top teams will be eyeing top talents in the country after a busy season
that saw teams compete in the local rugby league, Kenya Cup, National Sevens
Circuit, Enterprise Cup as well as the return of the Rugby Super
Series.
