Kenya Ports
Authority's women basketball team head coach Anthony Ojukwu has backed his side
to triumph in their premier league fixture against Zetech Sparks set for Sunday
at the Makupa Welfare Centre in Mombasa.
The dockers have already pitched camp at the
Makupa base for daily sessions aimed at attaining match fitness and
conditioning after a month long recess as they seek to extend their season
record that stands at 10-1.
"The team
is in high spirits, high morale and we are working more on our more
conditioning and endurance since the last time we played was like one month ago
as well as working on our tactical elements of the game.”
The Sparks
recently finished third in the Kenya Universities Sports Federation playoffs tournament
where they beat JKUAT 58-31 and will be looking to build on that momentum in
order to claim a win against the dockers who went unbeaten in the regular
season last term.
He added that
there are no injury concerns heading into the match, bullish that his charges
will give a good account of themselves.
"Zetech being a good team, you have to prepare physically and mentally so we can give a good account of ourselves, generally there are no injuries, every player is in good spirits, and good morale and we are eagerly waiting for that game so that we can show our talents."
