Koyonzo rugby team expelled from Western School Games

Koyonzo Rugby team expelled from the Western Kenya Secondary Games Games after fielding non-students in the ongoing games in Busia. 

Koyonzo were to face Vihiga Boys in the finals today but their place will be taking up by Butula Boys who will now take on Vihiga Boys in the final.

Yesterday, Koyonzo beat Butula 12-6 while Vihiga beat Kolanya 41-3. Butula and Vihiga Boys drew 0-0 in their opening match on Wednesday. 

Meanwhile, an appeal against Friends School Kamusinga basketball team placed by St. Peter's Mumias has been dismissed according to Western Region Secondary School Games Chairperson Martin Waswa. 

Elsewhere, defending basketball champions Onjinko High School have retained the boys Nyanza Regional Secondary Schools championship title after trouncing archrivals Agoro Sare 84 -61 in a heated contest. Girls side Ototo beat Barchando 47 -24 in the other contest.

In the boys handball, champions Manyatta humiliate Orero boys 24-16 as Miranga Mixed beat St. Albert Ulanda 26 -23 in the girls duel. 

In the hockey, Nyamira Girls beat Agenga 1-0 as Maseno beat Nduru 1-0.

In the rugby 15s, host Kisii School beat giants Maseno School in a disputed match that saw Maseno School walk out of the pitch in protest.

The winners proceed to nationals set to be staged at Kapsabet Boys.
