Korir said as a federation, they have great plans to nurture more talent, by partnering with schools and the Ministry of Education to ensure a seamless flow is maintained.
“The programs have really grown and produced top talent for the country and we have a vision as a federation to make it even bigger. We have seen the fruits so we aim to continue building more camps across the country with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education because that is the only way to raise better standards,” Korir told Citizen Digital.
AK held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, and Korir remains optimistic of a bright future going by the achievements so far and the plans they are laying down.
“It was very successful because we achieved a lot from the events that we organized like Sirikwa Gold Classic, Chepsaita Cross Country, Kip Keino Classic, Nairobi Expressway Marathon and many more so we celebrated the achievements and we look forward to more success this year,” added Korir.
With the World Athletics Championships set to be held in Tokyo in September, Korir is confident the rich legacy of dominating in the sport globally will remain.
“We are going to select a very competitive team for the competition. We want to bring more medals for the country and we know our athletes will deliver.”
