Nairobi City Stars Chief Executive Officer Patrick Korir has lavished praise on talisman Vincent Owino, whose towering display at the heart of Simba Wa Nairobi’s midfield have been instrumental to their enviable ascendancy to second spot on the FKF-Premier League.

Owino joined City Stars during last season’s mid-transfer window on a one-year deal from FC Talanta at a time when the team was in the relegation zone and went on to score three goals, providing two assists and six key passes in the second half of the season as his side survived the drop by a whisker.

This season, Owino is the club’s current top scorer with six goals and has assisted three times after featuring in all first-leg matches.

Korir has tipped Owino, who recently extended his tenure with the Hope Center-based side by two and a half years, to flourish while helping his side achieve their season ambitions.

“Part of the reason we were not relegated last season was due to Owino (Vincent) who joined us from Talanta mid-season.

“He is a very quiet player who let’s his football gift do the talking.

“We are happy to have him around because is among our best players,” said Korir.
