Kisumu Day won all four matches without conceding a goal.
They began their title defence with a 1-0 win over Kasagam on the first day before making a huge statement of intent with a resounding 9-0 win over Muhoroni High followed by a 2-0 win over Olembo before rounding up with a 2-0 win over Ngere.
The defending champions’ coach Benjamin Oyoo has backed his boys to go deep in the tournament and finally win the national time.
“We expect to win the semis and move to the finals. Our expectation is also to win the regional title. We’ve carried the trophy for Kisumu County for many years, and we want to pick it up one more time.”
Kisumu Day will now face Onjiko in the first semi-final, while Agai will battle Kasagam in the second.
Last season, Kisumu Day beat Agai 2-0 in the county final, and a potential rematch could be on the cards if both teams advance.
Coach Oyoo added that their ultimate goal is to capture the elusive national trophy.
“It has eluded us for some time, but this time we’ve fixed our sights on it, and we’re going all out for it,” he concluded.
