FKF Women's Premier League outfit Kisped Queens will be aiming for a win when they host Mombasa Olympic on Saturday in a league clash at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
Speaking
to Citizen Digital, the club's head
coach Daniel Minjis expressed confidence in his team, stating that they
utilized the international break effectively to rectify past mistakes and
fine-tune their strategies ahead of the crucial encounter.
“We have
had ample time to work on our mistakes, and I believe the team is in good shape
to compete and get the result we want,” said Minjis.
Minjis
added that the short break allowed new signings to adopt and learn the playing
system of the club. With Kisped Queens looking to climb the league table,
Minjis will be banking on both experienced and new players to deliver a strong
performance in front of their home crowd.
Among
the new arrivals at Kisped is midfielder Brenda Oduor from Siaya KMTC, who is
expected to bring creativity and stability to the midfield. Linda Eugene, a
winger from Ulinzi Starlets, joins the team to enhance their attacking options.
In goal,
Kisped Queens have secured the services of Golpa Awuor, a promising
shot-stopper from Uganda, providing more competition in the goalkeeping
department. Additionally, Talia Awuor, a young and talented player is also a
new acquisition.
Playing
at Moi Stadium in Kisumu County, Kisped Queens will be hoping to capitalize on
home advantage as they seek a positive result against Mombasa Olympic after
sharing spoils in the reverse fixture.
