The Kisumu-based side, currently sitting 9th on the log with 16 points, is just one position above the relegation zone, making their remaining fixtures a matter of life and death in top-flight football.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, the club's head coach, Daniel Minjis, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to stay afloat, stating that collecting at least three points in each of the remaining matches will significantly boost their chances of staying up.
“We have to win our remaining matches. Securing maximum points per game would put us in a strong position to avoid relegation,” said Minjis.
Kisped will not be in action this weekend, a break Minjis sees as a blessing in disguise. The team plans to utilize the time to regroup, refine their tactics, and address weaknesses that have cost them valuable points during the campaign.
"This weekend break allows us to polish our skills and correct our mistakes. Our attacking line, in particular, needs improvement. We’re creating chances, but our conversion rate is low,” added Minjis.
Kisped Queens’ inconsistency in front of the goal has been one of their major stumbling blocks. As the team works on sharpening their offensive play, Minjis believes better finishing could be the difference between staying in the league and facing relegation.
Kisped Queens will next welcome Bunyore Starlets in a bid to maintain their women's top-tier league status next season.
