The event featured both boys’ and girls’ teams, with schools such as Mirema School, White Cottage, Ruaraka Academy, Early Learners, Green Edgewood, and Josu School taking part.
In a thrilling girls’ final, White Cottage School narrowly edged out Green Edgewood with a 7–6 victory, earning bragging rights as the inaugural champions.
The boys’ final was a one-sided affair, with Mirema School overpowering Josu School 20–0.
Opatch from Mirema School was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the boys’ final, while Dorcus from White Cottage earned the MVP honour for the girls’ final.
The overall tournament MVP awards went to Delyan from Mirema in the boys’ category and Precious from White Cottage in the girls’ category.
KFAF President George Alwang’a praised the players and the growing interest in the sport.
“Our role is to give these young athletes a platform. The level of competition witnessed here today is unbelievable. There is real talent here, and we will continue to seek national and global opportunities for them,” he said.
The federation also announced plans to host a U12 Championship in early 2026, with the winning team set to represent Kenya on the global stage.
Introduced to Kenyan primary and high schools in 2023 through a partnership with NFL International, flag football is quickly gaining traction. Green Edgewood has already made a mark by finishing second at the recent Continental Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
