Kenya Commercial Bank [KCB] women’s volleyball team is gearing up for a strong start to the year as they head into the third leg of the Kenya National Volleyball League this Saturday at the Nyayo National Stadium.

The defending champions have been training intensively at the same venue under the guidance of coach Japheth Munala. Team captain Edith Wisa is optimistic about their chances, emphasizing the team’s strong preparation and unity.

“Our team is in great shape, and the players’ morale is high,” Wisa said. “We’ve been working well with our new signings, especially those we brought in from school. After finishing last year on a high in the Eldoret tournament, we’re motivated to defend our title this season.”

Wisa acknowledged the challenges ahead, noting that many teams will bring fresh energy with their new signings. “We expect tough competition in the third leg, but our focus is on perfecting our game. If we play to our strengths, we’ll come out on top,” she added.

KCB will open their campaign this Saturday against Prisons Nairobi at Nyayo Stadium, following a match between Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Army. On Sunday, they are set to face Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), with Prisons Nairobi taking on Prisons Kenya in the preceding game.

As the league heats up, KCB are determined to maintain their dominance and extend their championship streak. With their blend of experienced players and talented newcomers, the team is confident about their chances of continuing their winning ways.

All eyes will be on the Nyayo National Stadium this weekend as the bankers aims to assert their supremacy in Kenyan volleyball.
