KCB volleyball ladies team prepares for grueling battle at Africa Volleyball Club Championship
The KCB volleyball ladies' team, led by Coach Japheth Munala, is gearing up for a demanding series of matches in the upcoming Africa Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
With the event drawing near, Munala is unwavering in his acknowledgement of the challenges ahead, stressing the team's preparedness for what is anticipated to be a gruelling tournament.
"This competition is going to be fierce. Let's not forget that Egypt, the host nation, is the last edition's defending champions. Moreover, we'll face formidable teams from Algeria, Tunisia, and Cameroon. It's going to be a stern test, but we have the necessary qualities to emerge triumphant," Munala remarked.
Despite the formidable challenge ahead, team captain Edith Wisa radiates confidence in her team's abilities. With a blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talents, Wisa sees the tournament as a prime opportunity for the newer members to gain invaluable experience on the international stage.
"The team is fully prepared, and our preparations have been progressing smoothly. We have a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers, which bodes well for the juniors as they'll have the chance to gain valuable experience. They've already demonstrated their readiness for the task in recent tournaments," Wisa affirmed.
The team is set to depart for Cairo on Wednesday morning, with the competition slated to take place from April 24 to May 5, 2024. The tournament promises to be a captivating display of skill and determination for all participating teams.
