KCB RFC technical bench in South Africa for training

 

KCB Rugby Club technical team is in South Africa for coaching and technical preparation training at the High-Performance Centre in Cape Town.

The team comprising of head coach Curtis Olago, Andrew Amonde, Mariko Mushilla, Brian Otieno, and Brian Omondi have been invited to Western Province Rugby to engage in discussions with the coaching and support staff of the DHL Stormers Rugby Union team and DHL Western Province Rugby.

Head coach Curtis Olago is looking forward to the great adventure.

“We have had a relationship with Western Province for  many years we are basically going to improve on the skill that we already have we have a game  profile as a team and every year we have to keep improving on it by keeping up with what is happening internationally ,”said Olago

The team which is expected back on May 4th to prepare for the Sevens Circuit will also observe DHL Western Province Team preparation, training and meetings ahead of their Currie Cup Tournament and at the same time attend home games at the DHL Newlands stadium.

Assistant coach Mariko Mushilla is excited with the opportunity to improve their coaching skills.

“Everything is structured and they are every up to date with the rest of the world in terms of they why they run things professionally and the rugby knowledge that they impact on their players and technical bench so we are very pleased to have this opportunity to be part of the training,” stated  Mushilla

During the visit they will then join other KCB RFC players including Darwin Mukidza, Samuel Asati, Jacob Ojee, Peter Kioko, Vincent Onyala, Brian Wahinya, and Patrick Yugi who are currently with the Kenya 15s team participating in the ongoing Currie Cup competition.
