KCB must get better in sevens title defense bid, warns Amonde
KCB RFC sevens head coach Andrew Amonde has backed his side
to continue improving as the national sevens circuit continues in different
parts of the country.
KCB finished fourth at the Dallas Sevens in Kisumu over the
weekend, a feat that has got the former Shujaa stalwart believing they will
keep on improving as the circuit goes by.
“The recent few weeks that we have been together I have seen
some great improvement from the team, and I believe we can get better in the
coming matches,” said Amonde.
Amonde was, however, impressed by the growth of young players who
have been given the opportunity to showcase their talent during the circuit.
“They have grown so much across the season, which is a good
thing for the team it shows we have a great backup plan and foundation for the
team,” added Amonde
Having captained the national sevens team Shujaa and played for
KCB in the sevens and 15s, the former Kenyan international has expressed
delight at the way the sport has improved in recent years in different parts of
the county.
“The sport has grown across the
country, and players are competing at very high levels which is a good thing
for the country.
“I hope to see this happen more in
the coming years, “stated the former Shujaa captain.
