KCB FC head coach Patrick Odhiambo is not entertaining any title talk just yet despite their sparkling run this season.

The Bankers top the Kenyan Premier League table with 17 points after eight rounds and managed to stretch a seven-match unbeaten run before falling 1-0 to Mathare United a week ago.

"It's still very early to start thinking or being excited about title push or whether we are title hopefuls or not.

We have just started and the most important thing is to focus on doing our best in every game and nothing else, "said Odhiambo.

The former Kakamega Homeboyz tactician has at the same time credited stiff competition among his players for the team's upsurge.

"It's the chemistry amongst ourselves and team spirit that is doing that magic so far.

We are working together as a team and we thank Almighty God for enabling us to be where we are now,” he said.

As KCB we intend to work hard and focus on what is ahead of us and thank God the players have upped their game, thanks to the internal competition which is healthy for good results.”

He has also hailed the playing unit for quickly mastering his philosophy.

The boys are playing football exactly the way I want and as you know every coach has different style of play and the way he wants his players to adapt to it on the pitch. I want to hail the boys for that," concluded Odhiambo.

The Bankers next host FC Talanta on November 23 after two weeks of international break.
