KCB capture Kabeberi and seal national sevens glory
KCB RFC were
crowned the National Sevens Circuit champions Sunday after challengers Kabras
fell 12-7 to Menengai Oilers in the quarters of the series’ final leg at
Kabeberi.
Kabras
entered the Kabeberi Sevens as the circuit leaders with 91 points, just one
ahead of arch-rivals KCB.
They needed
to hold that slight advantage to guarantee title success but the defending
champions Oilers ended those plans to hand KCB the championship.
The Bankers
made it double joy as they went on to claim the Kabeberi Sevens title, crushing
Nakuru RFC 26-0 in the final.
Victory took
their points tally to 113 with Kabras ending on 104 in second place while
Strathmore Leos (95), Menengai Oilers (88) and Mwamba (79) followed in that
order.
In the
women’s final, Western Spears triumphed 10-7 against Impala Sarecens while Catholic
Monks won the Challenge trophy after defeating Tessen Warriors 7-5 in the
final.
