Kariobangi Sharks release young winger Brian Wanyama
Football Kenya Federation Premier League outfit Kariobangi Sharks have confirmed the departure of young winger Enock Brian Wanyama after featuring for the club for just one season.
In a statement posted on their social media pages, the William
Muluya coached side thanked Wanyama for his services and wished him well in his
future endeavors.
Wanyama came through the Chapa Dimba tournament and was part of the Kenya Cecafa U20 squad in Tanzania in 2020. He scored three goals in the tournament.
Last year he went to Slovakia for trials but failed to nail
a deal. He later attended trials in DRC before returning to join Sharks.
The prodigy did not feature much for Sharks in the just
concluded season making a handful of substitute appearances and the club has
now let go of him a season into his three-year deal.
Wanyama becomes the second player to part ways with Sharks
after the close of the 2021/21 season.
Last week the club confirmed the exit of goalkeeper Brian
Olang’o. The short-stopper who had been with the club since 2020 exited with six
appearances to his name. He is currently in Egypt for trials with an unnamed
club.
Reports indicate the club will release up to 10 players as they re-shape in readiness for the new season that will start tentatively in September with the General Elections coming up in the next one month.
