Kapen eager to shine for new club City Stars
Samuel Kapen is eager to shine for
new club Nairobi City Stars following an outstanding season in the National
Super League with Kibera Black Stars.
The attacking midfielder scored sixteen
goals for Kibera, earning admiration across the league and a move to City Stars
who signed him on a one-year deal.
City Stars CEO Patrick Korir has
praised the 20-year-old’s tenacity, adding he is confident he will carry his form
from last season into the FKF Premier League.
"He is training well, he is a good player and I have no
doubt he will succeed here. He is in high spirits and ready to prove himself in
the competition and most importantly, to help the club attain its
objectives," Korir said.
Kapen first tasted top flight football in the 2020-2021
season with Posta Rangers, an outfit he featured for in two league matches as a
substitute.
He was released in August last year alongside five more
players whom coach Stanley Okumbi deemed surplus to requirement.
Kapen, a Liberty Academy product, says
he is adapting to life at City Stars where he is likely to play a key role
following the departures of more than players from the club.
