Junior Stars set sights on Uganda in AFCON U17 qualifiers

The youngsters suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Tanzania in the opening match at Nakivubo Hamz Stadium in Uganda on Wednesday.
“The boys can play. We picked up momentum in the second half, and we want to build on that as we head into the second match against Uganda,” said Akhulia.
“It’s a must-win match if we want to progress, and the team is clear on that.”
The Junior Stars face the hosts in their final Group A showdown on Saturday at Nakivubo Hamz Stadium.
The result of this high-stakes match will determine whether the team advances to the semi-finals and stays in contention for a spot in the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The best two teams will have a chance to play in the continental championship slated for 2025.
