Junior Starlets out to finish the job against Uganda in World Cup qualifier

Junior Starlets celebrate after beating Ugandan 2-0 in Kampala.
The Midlred Cheche coached side will host Uganda in the decisive return, carrying a crucial 2-0 advantage from the first leg played on Saturday at Nakivubo Hamz Stadium in Kampala.
The grade nine student at ST Maurice Mwira Girls in Matungu Kakamega is longing to score after providing an assist during Kenny’s U-17 Women’s World Cup 2-1 victory in the hands of Mexico in October 2024 in the Dominican Republic.
“Since I joined the Starlets in 2024 I have given two assists and in the first leg against Uganda I managed to score my first goal which motivated me a lot. Ahead of the second leg on Sunday we are very much prepared and we will use the home advantage to thrash them.”
Her sentiments were echoed by defender Lorine Ilavonga
“We are great for the opportunity to play for the national team. We understand Uganda is a tough side but we will give it our best and win the match”
Advanced tickets for the match are available at tikiti.co.ke or through 51955# on mobile and are retailing at Sh500 for VIP and Sh100 for terraces.
The match will kick off from 3PM and this will be the first time Nyayo Stadium is hosting an international match since November 19, 2023 when the senior side Harambee Starlets played Botswana in 2024 Women African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Uganda qualified for the second round after harvesting an aggregate 18-0 win against Namibia last month as Kenya received a bye into the round.
