Junior Starlets in tough Group C of 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup

The draw was conducted by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on June 23, 2024, in the host nation, the Dominican Republic, where Junior Starlets were in Pot 4.
Kenya, which is making its debut in the competition, will open their campaign against England on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
The Young Lionesses have participated in the competition two times, with their best finish being in fourth place in 2008.
Kenya will also have a tough time facing two-time champions, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, representing North Korea, who have participated in the competition a total of seven times.
Korea DPR have reached the World Cup finals on three occasions, and won the title at the 2008 and 2016 editions.
Junior Starlets will also be seeking to prove their metal against Mexico, who have made six appearances in the competition, finishing as runners-up in 2018.
The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 will be held in the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3, 2024.
Kenya qualified for the global showpiece in a heroic fashion, after white-washing Burundi 5-0 on aggregate in their final qualification match.
Group A: Dominican Republic, Ecuador, New Zealand, Nigeria
Group B: Spain, USA, Korea Republic, Colombia
Group C: Korea DPR, Mexico, Kenya, England
Group D: Japan, Poland, Brazil, Zambia
