Trinity Starlets is aiming to reach the semi-finals of the FKF Women’s Cup when
they face Bungoma Queens in the cup's quarterfinals this weekend.
Head coach Moses Juma termed the clash as a good
opportunity to avenge the 3-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Queens in
the second leg of the women’s premier league in the just concluded season.
Juma further stated that the team has corrected
the mistakes they made in their previous match against Bungoma, including their
failure to convert their chances and letting in easy goals.
"Our goal is to try and beat Bungoma Queens
because they beat us in the Premier League. We have worked on our weaknesses in
readiness for the coming fixture. They beat us because of the costly mistakes
in goalkeeping, defense, and failure to convert our chances; these are the areas
that we have addressed," Juma told Citizen Digital.
The tactician also said they are not
under any pressure ahead of their match against Queens: "We are taking
each match at a time; this is a knockout game, and our aim is to qualify for the
next stage."
Trinity Starlets beat Ndarawetta Tea Queens 2-1 to
qualify for the quarter-finals, while Bungoma Queens defeated Gideons Starlets
3-0.
In other FKF Women's Cup quarterfinal pairings,
FKF Women's Premier League champions Kenya Police Bullets will face Zetech
Sparks, the cup holders.
Ulinzi Starlets will tackle Kibera Soccer, while
Vihiga Queens will face National Super League side Eldoret Falcons.
