Joining Kaimosi Queens an opportunity to advance my education, says defender Chemutai

Eve Chemutai Selim has attributed her recent move to Friends College Kaimosi
Queens FC from Vihiga Queens as one
guided by desire to advance her education.
Selim
together with striker Agnes Olesi were released by Vihiga Queens on Friday,
September 2, 2022 and have both joined FCK Queens after landing a full
education sponsorship with the Kaimosi based college in Vihiga County.
“This
is to notify you that Selim Eve Chemutai has been with Vihiga Queens Football
Club for the 2021/202 season. Having cleared with all club departments, we
release her to join FCK Queens FC unconditionally,” Chemutai’s release letter,
which Citizen Digital has accessed,
read in part.
In
a separate interview with Citizen Digital,
Chemutai thanked Vihiga for giving her opportunity to showcase her talent for
the short stint she has been with the side, saying it’s a new beginning for her
career.
“I
am so happy for the move because it will give me a good opportunity to study. I
am joining the college to pursue a certificate course in General Agriculture, a
course which has been my dream since I was young as I do love farming.
I
will be playing for the college team as I continue sharpening my education
skills and I am sure that I will gain more career wise and talent wise. I want
to thank Vihiga for granting me opportunity to play for them and I wish them
all the best ahead of the new season.”
Selim,
22, started her football career way back at Laliat Primary School in Ainamoi
Kericho County before proceeding to St. Theresa Tar Tar Girls in West Pokot
before joining Nakuru City Queens where she made her Women Premier League debut.
She
would later join Vihiga, the four time KWPL champions in November 2021, and was
part of the team which won the CECAFA club championship and represented East
Arica region in the inaugural CAF women Champions League held in Cairo, Egypt
in the same month.
The
duo are the only players to have been released by Vihiga Queens as at now as
they structure ahead of the new season scheduled for to kick off on September
24.
